The 2,000-square-foot facility, which is in a prime Venice location and has an expanded donation drive-through and enhanced loading docks, was designed by Randall Paul Sample Architect and built by NDC Construction.

Gladiolus Learning and Development Center is a nationally Accredited Professional Preschool Learning Environment that has been awarded the Gold Seal of Excellence by the State of Florida, and has been in business for more than 40 years. The client asked for a 13,000 SF single story building to accommodate up to 200 students with adequate parking at grade and an outdoor play area.

Lila Restaurant is situated on Main Street in downtown Sarasota. When dealing with buildings 50+ years old, it is all about unique ideas to allow for suspended mechanical and architectural components, such as the large drop above the bar top. We were able to utilize existing framing while adding only minimally to ensure this could be supported.

Tidewell Hospice stands as a pillar in the communities it supports. Its mission of “providing care, comfort, and compassion” relies heavily on the design of their facilities for both the sake of their residents as well as staff. WBRC Architects also wanted to provide a higher level of safety to the building occupants so the design of the facility was conducted in a manner that would allow a shelter-in-place option at even a Category 5 hurricane.

Located just north of downtown, these three buildings in the heart of Sarasota's Design District complement the area with a combined 65,000-square-foot that will serve as both living and retail. The construction of the building is a mix of masonry walls, steel and concrete columns supporting a two-way flat plate, and metal joists.

These luxury apartments were designed to be part of a new urban lifestyle center located at I-75 and Fruitville Road in Sarasota. Included is 300 apartment units within three buildings, each four stories high. There is also 100,000 square feet of retail, a 130 key hotel, and 100,000 square feet of office, all designed around a centrally located civic space.

The new 23,000 square feet Fire Station for the City of North Port includes four apparatus bays, double deep, 11 bunks for staff, two lieutenant bunks, and a shared lieutenant office, one battalion chief office and adjoining bunk, kitchen (shared with the police), five single-stall restrooms with showers, a small conference room, report room, dayroom, exercise room (shared with the police), local tailpipe exhaust ventilation system, gear laundry/decon room, turnout gear room. 

Bible Baptist Church is an excellent example of harmonious form and function. The design intended to allow for an increased congregation size without building too large or over budget. The structural system is a mix of a pre-engineered metal building, surrounded by masonry bearing and steel beams and columns supporting pre-engineered steel bar joists. The pronounced porte-cochere is a favorite, with the steel tube sections sloped from column to column to allow the arches to align across the front elevation.

Just south of downtown Charleston, South Carolina lies Bishop Gadsden Retirement Community. This “down south” retirement community sits on 46 acres of pristine South Carolina woodlands. The new projects at Bishop Gadsden include the introduction of an entire community, six homes with a variety of options perfect for the independent living market.
