Madeby Gallery Ringling
Architect: Lawson Group Architects
Owner: Ringling College of Art and Design
11,000 sq ft
The Madeby Gallery is the centerpiece of the Ringling campus. Where design meets society: the intersection of work and show. When we were asked to help design a building for the campus to use as a Gallery we agreed on the spot, as we knew the project would be a prestigious opportunity and test of our creative abilities. The large space in the Gallery is made possible by the two story roof, supported by steel column and beam line interior to the building. The roofs, both upper and lower, are pre-engineered steel bar joists spanning to exterior masonry walls allowing for a captivating dropped ceiling to be used to re-define the height of the space.
